Celebrate a new chapter in education in Wales and remember your time at Townhill Campus on June 26th.
Swansea Training College was established in 1872 in the heart of Swansea city centre, and with only 38 female students becoming the first teacher-training college in Wales. The college moved to Townhill campus in 1912, remaining a women’s only college until after the Second World War.
Since then, the School of Education has trained hundreds of the nation’s teachers, having an immeasurable impact on Welsh education.
With the imminent closure of the campus, you are invited to join the UWTSD Women’s Network in celebrating the individuals who have led, taught and attended the campus throughout its history.
The event is open to all and kindly sponsored by Yr Athrofa.
