The University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) Degree Apprenticeship Unit is taking to the road to share its expertise with prospective employers and students.

Wearing a UWTSD-branded Apprenticeships shirt, Emily Hunt smiles towards the camera.

The roadshow will be visiting Cardiff, Newport, Llanelli, Morriston, Llansamlet, Fforestfach, as well as locations in Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire.

Emily Hunt, Apprenticeship Development Officer, said: “It is a pleasure to be taking our fantastic apprenticeship unit out on the road. I look forward to meeting companies around South Wales to let them know about our fully Government funded degree apprenticeships that are available at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David.”

UWTSD is a leading university provider of Degree Apprenticeships, currently delivering degree apprenticeships for over 100 employers. We have established strong relationships with private and public sector organisations including SME’s, Local Authorities and NHS Trusts.

We understand the everyday challenges for businesses and as a result, we created in partnership with employers an Industry led Apprenticeship Programme, which when combined with daily practical on-the-job experience supports students to apply the knowledge gained directly to the workplace.

Our degree apprenticeships offer the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge, and experiences. You can take a degree apprenticeship to up-skill or re-skill if you are already in employment.

Businesses can utilise the apprenticeship programme to:

  • Fill skills gaps within your business by up-skilling or retraining employees.
  • Recruit talented employees with potential into your business.
  • For succession planning which focuses on identifying and growing talent to fill leadership and business critical positions in the future.
  • Provide an attractive ladder of opportunity and career progression for existing employees.

For prospective students:

  • Earn while you learn – Enjoy the benefits of being a full-time employee and get paid time off to study and attend classes throughout your degree programme.
  • Gain Nationally recognised qualifications - once you successfully complete the programme.
  • Degree apprenticeships provide a great platform to improve your knowledge, skills and working experience which will also improve your employability and your career progression.
  • No student debt – tuition fees paid by the Government or employer, see funding page.
  • Gain full access to our fantastic campus services and facilities.
  • You will be allocated a designated apprentice liaison officer who will provide pastoral and academic support to you throughout your programme.
  • Advice and support with the funding application.
