Certificate in Practical Welsh
The Certificate in Practical Welsh offers students at all levels an opportunity to gain additional knowledge of the Welsh language. The course is very flexible, operating at three levels; Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced; and allowing students to choose from a variety of learning pathways.
The Foundation Certificate is designed for students with no prior knowledge of Welsh to develop a working knowledge of the language and its grammar. You can choose to learn through online modules or combine e-learning with the five-day residential course in Lampeter.
By the end of the course you will be able to communicate at a good basic level about a range of everyday topics such as shopping, your family and the weather.
The Intermediate Certificate is designed for those with a limited knowledge of the language to increase their understanding and to develop their confidence in written and spoken skills. There will be a focus on perfecting your grammar and your translation skills.
Learners at this level will also be given the opportunity to learn entirely online or combine with the popular residential course in Lampeter.
The Advanced Certificate will give students who speak with a good level of fluency the opportunity to strengthen their spoken Welsh and writing skills and increase their confidence. With a focus on using Welsh in the workplace, as a student on this course you will revise grammar and practice applying it in a range of practical tasks. You will be given the valuable opportunity to participate in activities with other learners on group forums via Moodle.
